A local company has spilled oil extending two miles into Coos Bay.
An unknown amount of diesel fuel entered Coos Bay from Carson-Davis Oil Company during an on-shore fuel transfer between a truck and Carson-Davis’ facility. The spill created a light sheen approximately 2 miles long.
Carson-Davis Oil has hired crews to lay boom in an effort to protect local oyster farms from the spilled product.
(hat tip/themguys)
Evidently the spill happened Friday morning. Reported that afternoon near the bridge I believe. The World had time to talk to Clausons’ Oysters, etc. But no reporting of the spill until later Monday.
Maybe they will mention it in today’s paper… buried somewhere in the back.
Did the “World” miss the local news again?
