If memory serves, Coos County has 27,000 households so this amounts to about $498 per household per year. Not such a great sum for safe roads and public services (assuming we have either) and it would be worth comparing that figure to Curry County or Lane County.
Look at the $27M pipeline bond divided by ten years by households is $100 per year per household for a white elephant.
And, while you are educating me, please tell me why we are paying three people – two psychiatrists and a mental health manager almost almost $500,000 total annually in salary and benefits. Wouldn’t it be easier and mush less costly to hire an outside expert – as may be required?
PLEASE – somebody – anybody – tell me why the citizens of Coos County employ an HR Director and a county lawyer making significantly more money than the overworked and underpaid county commissioners. Also, why are we paying the head county lawyer (and there is at east one more lawyer in the county employ) a salary and benefits package of almost $110,000 annuially when that person must hire experts depending on the task that she is asked to do for the citizens – recently Goldsmith Report – expected to have cost $75,000; unacceptable ORC lease that has cost many thousands so far; etc. Thanks for educating me.
