Hats off to these kids and their coaches for pulling off such a great coup. Made up of kids from Coquille and Myrtle Point the team has pulled up from the trenches and have a home field game on Saturday, November 1st. Be sure and be there.
This team has met with some resistance regarding the field as the athletic director was initially reluctant to allow the game to be played on the CVHS athletic field declaring it for football only. Thankfully, the team will be playing with a real hometown advantage right here in Coquille after complaints were lodged. Nonetheless, the director is still putting up road blocks regarding practicing on the field before the game!
As an avid soccer fan I certainly hope that the AD does not believe that one group of students is more important than another. Or more succinctly, that football players are more important than soccer players.
