McCain was certainly talented at throwing out the talking points tonight. He used ‘maverick’, ‘straight talk’, one of my personal favorites, the old ‘safer but not yet safe’ card and lets not forget that South Koreans are three inches taller than North Koreans?????!!!!! McCain was certainly adept at playing the elder statesman and announcing that Obama ‘just doesn’t understand’ or is ‘naive’ etc…
Obama did not parry the jabs very well and it may have been the format, who knows. That said, he did when able answer questions with some substance and did not fill the space with platitudes and bad history lessons.
All in all, I was disappointed in general, not learning too much about the important issues to me. Next Thursday between Palin and Biden ought to much more entertaining, if the McCain campaign even lets her debate.
