Three councilors, Fran Capehart, “Corky” Daniels and Kathy Hagen will be up for re-election for four year terms. Deadline to file a petition to run for a city council position is August 26, 2008. Also up is the position of mayor, currently held by Steve Britton. a two year position.

No word yet on whether the incumbent candidates will be running but hopefully we can get some new and, hopefully, younger blood on the city council. This is an important time in our county and our city and it is very important to find intelligent progressive citizens to run for these positions, school boards, county commissions and other governing seats.

Things need to change.
