Last night I attended the Coos County Democrats annual spaghetti feed and fund raiser. Thom Hartmann was keynote speaker and gave a tepid but earnest account of why he believes we should support whichever democratic candidate wins the nomination.
While I wish I could get excited about any candidate still actively running, unfortunately, I cannot, though Obama may be the best of the top three choices. The more I learn about free markets, privatization and globalization the more I know that we cannot continue to head down that path. Essential services, electricity, transportation, health care, education, at least, should always stay in the hands of the people.
