The proposed Coos County budget, it is alive and speaks. It says fund me from your reserves, do not cut my expenditures, stop the wage freeze, give government employees pay and benefit increases.
How are our wise politicians using their political capital? Witch side of the fence are they on, or do they sit upon the fence and test the wind?
Do the Coos County Politicians work, for the Citizens, or voters, or the employees? All might be considered a special interest group, and surely one or more, a smaller voting block.
Does Coos County uses it’s saving, to maintain necessary, or political services?
It is time, NOW, to cut expenditures. Waiting, lights the fuze on political capital. It is known where the financial cliff, lies ahead for Coos County. Cutting expenditures will extend or eliminate that event.
The message from Wisconsin was quite clear. Growing the public sector, increasing wages, and benefits has had its day. The wind has changed direction.
The old path you walk, redistribution of the wealth is your future plan. The necessity to continue expenditures, and increase them, while necessitating a future tax increase to tap into your voter base to pay for your current recklessness.
Use this time wisely, until June 28, 2012, or, as much time as you choose to enhance your political capital and correct this plan, before you start on this path. Have a tough love talk with your budget and our employees.
