The Coos County Alliance for Progress is now supporting Senator Bruce Starr (R) representing Senate District 15 which includes the cities of Hillsboro, Cornelius, Forest Grove and North Plains.
UPDATEDale Sause of Sause Brothers commissioned his daughter Caitlin Sause, a lawyer/lobbyist for Ball Janik LLP in Portland, to draft an amendment attached to SB 1543 and carried by state Sen. Bruce Starr, R-Hillsboro. The bill’s passage caused Coos Bay Towboat company owned and operated by Captain Yates to suffer financial hardship after purchasing a large ship and may result in less safe conditions on the bay with larger ships. Beneficiaries of the bill include Sause Bros and Knutson Towboat
I should have read the above beyond the “lawyer/lobbyist” label. I am certain that the Sause family is mighty proud of young Caitlin. Lawyer she isn’t. Lobbyist she is – and in her brief professional past life for causes that would be dear to MGX.
INTERESTINK! There are two Sause – one male, one female – admitted to the Oregon Bar. Both reside and are employed in Multnomah County. But, neither is Caitlin, neither claims to work for Ball Janik.
Destroying a competitor is what the PAC calls progress
So it appears that Starr is anti-labor and is running against Brad Avakian. Apprarently, CCAP defines “progress” as limiting worker rights
Ron Stuntzner, Stuntzner Engineering, has an office located in Forest Grove. Might have something to do with the donation.
Maybe he is on some subcommittee that is believed to be relevant to Coos County’s progress
WHY?
