Bice behaved like a wanna-be shock jock at times, referring to “knuckle draggers” and “CAVE people” to which Barton and Pettit cheered but otherwise the show was pretty underwhelming except when the audience was treated to the sound of Jon Barton belching. Pettit appears to be masking his hate for Randy Sanne by continuing to pick on Solid Waste, so there was nothing new there and Barton and Slater sounded like, well, Barton and Slater.

It is clear that commissioner opponents, incumbent Bob Main and challenger Randy Sanne share a few common views, in particular, their mutual disdain for the opinions and tactics used by structure advisory committee co-chair, Al Pettit. Speaking at the Americans For Prosperity meeting this week, Sanne fielded a question about the recommendation to hire a county manager. The recommendation is not popular with AFP members and it opened the door for more comments about the often insulting Al Pettit.

Sanne to discuss the county’s budget at Americans for Prosperity meeting

Randy Sanne, candidate for commissioner position number one, will be speaking tomorrow evening at the Americans for Prosperity meeting to be held at the ESD building in North Bend. Sanne will present his budget plan and explain how close the county os to a balanced budget already. Sanne is expected to provide a detailed analysis that belies recent claims made by the structure advisory committee co-chair, Al Pettit, that the county is close to insolvency.
