Nicholas McGuffin convicted of 1st degree manslaughter in the 2000 death of his girlfriend, Leah Freeman, will be complete his mandated sentence August 22, 2020. If McGuffin had come forward from the beginning, instead of hiding his crime, he would be on with his life by now and would probably have served a much shorter sentence. One has to wonder whether the person or persons who helped orchestrate the attempt to coverup the crime back then wish now they had urged him to tell the truth.

Many comments criticize the jury for their finding without hard physical evidence but, in fact, they acted “boldly” as Frasier implored them to during his closing argument. Objections to this verdict would seem to imply that many people believe that as long as any killer is clever or adept at covering their tracks they can walk away even if there is a preponderance of circumstantial evidence to conclude their guilt.
