Charter organizers target of vandalism

A vehicle owned by Jaye Bell and Ronnie Herne, founders of the home rule charter committee, ARRRG, appears to have been sabotaged. Sheriff’s officials have been notified and the vandalism includes sidewalls slit, tampering with the throttle and draining the engine oil. In each instance the damage was done in such a way as to disable the vehicle only after traveling and could have caused serious injury or fatality to oncoming traffic as well as Bell and Herne.

Charter vs ordinance debates next week

talk radio host Cam Parry who will arrive cunningly disguised as an interim county commissioner to argue in favor of the ordinance. The LOWV event begins at 7PM with Arnie Roblan vs Scott Roberts. Herne and Bell will represent the charter beginning at approximately 8PM.

Parry, however, took the opportunity to comment on points in the charter that he believed infringed upon freedom of speech and referred to sections he said prohibited staff from reporting criminal violations although he didn’t specify the sections. Bell complained that he was prejudicing the public by not reading the charter in full and taking sections out of context.
