Whether the district attorney can prove McGuffin guilty beyond a reasonable doubt or not, this trial is a triumph of a mother’s will to see justice for her daughter. For the citizens who rose up to bring badly needed changes it is proof that working together, even against the inertia of an aging and disdainful city council and an unfeeling city manager, can make a difference.

In yet another example of the widening chasm between credible ethical journalism as promoted by the ONPA and pot stirring a local blogger (who is not a member of the ONPA) is now citing his OWN articles as corroboration for erroneous claims he is making! Dian has handled it on the Concerned Citizens Blog but I had to comment on it here… does he assume people are dense?
This is an extreme example of what can go wrong when a vacant public seat is filled, not by the will of the people, but left to the satisfaction of a few individuals.
