John Sweet’s direct mailer arrived yesterday and it claims “John has a clear vision of the future”. The “future” in Sweet’s divination includes the usual worm’s eye election season dribble about “encouraging new industries”, “create good paying jobs” and public safety. Nowhere does Sweet explain how he will accomplish this future in the face of waning tax revenues or why he accomplished anything already. Sweet also claims to want to “ensure transparency and accountability” even though he supports the privatization of public money via the very opaque and unaccountable CEP.

Don Gurney, on the other hand, knows precisely where to go to generate federal payments in lieu of taxes and also knows we need to get it done in the next two years.

Screen Shot 2014-10-22 at 1.56.36 PMCommissioner Melissa Cribbins is openly endorsing Sweet and they have been pretty much in lock step since they took office in 2013 as well as being supported by the same moneyed special interests. Cribbins is already guaranteed another four years so in order to keep the county solvent and also get rid of the Sweet and Sour puppets of the local cabal, Gurney must win this November.
