Douglas County Planning commissioners deadlocked three to three in a vote to do away with Condition No. 12 of the PCGP (Pacific Gas Connector Pipeline) export permit that limits the direction of flow of gas to import only and the realignment of Weaver’s Ridge. The deadlock means the new export application is deemed not approved so the import only condition of approval remains with the matter expected to be turned over to the Douglas County commissioners for a final decision. The PCGP would connect fracked natural gas with the proposed Jordan Cove LNG export terminal.
Coos County Commissioners, however, accepted hearings officer Andrew Stamps recommendations. Both John Sweet and Melissa Cribbins expressed support for the Jordan Cove LNG project during their campaigns and Sweet has been recorded doing the same since he was elected. Additionally, Sweet was observed late last year holding a lengthy meeting with representatives of Jordan Cove at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport belying his claim yesterday of no ex parte contact.
If those calling out residents for being such things as ‘obstructionists,’ ‘do nothings,’ to ‘eco-terrorists’ would take a look at the survey from DHM Research discussed on the video link I posted, they would find that they may be with the ones in the minority in Oregon.
I’m going to post it again. It will cost you about 42 minutes, but will pay you back in affirming you are not alone if you care about safe, clean, sustainable communities.

Thank you Douglas County! It’s nice to know that someone has the balls to stand up to the self appointed bourgeoisie class of Coos County. I hope the Douglas County Commissioners have the balls to follow suit. We should let them know we support this decision.
Reminder is right, there is no anti-LNG candidates running in Coos County. After the treatment that Jody has received, I’m guessing they’re afraid. We need to provide a forum for the people of Coos County and let their voices be heard!
The fall of SCDC is just the beginning; we need the Commissioners to know, loud and clear, we do not support SCDC, LNG or any of the other half baked schemes they profess to save us with.
It’s long past time for Jody and her friends – including a couple imported true experts from long distance – to hold a meeting at SWOCC for the purpose of educating the people. Many new folks have arrived since Jody started in 2005. Many don’t understand. Skip the technical stuff that locals will never understand. Dust off her earlier presentations or skim the content of that lengthy web site she used for a few years. Hopefully the rowdy SCDC led crowd of pro pipeline / terminal people will be there to be filmed at their worst.
Rubber Stamp has proven himself an ally of the Jordan Cove people from the first time he was hired so why would these commissioners take a chance on anyone else.
There was no anti-LNG candidate in the final runoff for these commissioner positions. The locals really had no choice from that point forward, nor will they get one until these people running things are seen as a hindrance to moving this area in the right direction. Locals don’t want this but all they hear is how this project is the best thing for us since sliced bread was invented.
I don’t know what rubber stamp has recommended, but I bet it was just what SCDC wanted.
