According to sources who wish to remain anonymous for fear of retribution, ORCCA executive director, Mike Lehman’s management style has created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Lehman has reportedly printed articles and comments published on MGx for staff meetings saying there is no truth behind them while at the same time taking measures to crack down on leaks and leaving some staff feeling as if they have a “target” on their backs. MGx stands behind its reporting.
Meanwhile, the ORCCA board still hasn’t addressed complaints that it is being manipulated by Lehman and is negligent in its oversight of the agency. Nor has the board provided a plan for reducing its projected deficits providing an additional air of job insecurity. Meanwhile, Lehman is scheduled to receive a $4,000 a year raise to $84,000 annually pending board review of his six month probation period.

Sounds as though pig nuts is indeed fishing for information and in doing so has shown just how desperate Lehman is getting. If pig nuts is from the inside of ORCCA the clients that desperately need services should all rise up in disgust and be outraged to be referred to as “ paranoid schizophrenic”! Pig nuts, is it now you who is getting personal and should cool your jets? The walls of around Lehman are crumbling around him. His hand picked management staff are now turning on him. Lehman is all about control and once he doesn’t have that well then he will be suspicious of all, people like that always end up losing in the end.
Could just be someone who’s shown past interest in Budget Committees.
And Pig Nuts….you say “our paranoid schizophrenic customers.” This identifies you as a current employee referring to clients in a derogitory manner?! Shame on you as well. Probably safe to assume you are one of those receiving special treatment. I hope when Mike, John and Carol are sent packing that you go as well. ORCCA clients need assistance, not to be belittled.
I am assuming a majority of the staff at ORCCA don’t have pockets nearly as full as those of “chosen ones.” They do what they do for the love of the job and the satisfaction of helping others. Why would they bother involving themselves in the wrong doings at ORCCA by the management staff? Had Mike, John and Carol a shred of honesty/intergrity/morals/ethics maybe there wouldn’t be anything for MGX or former employees to expose. Seriously…..how long did they really think they would get away with it before it blew up in their faces?? Karma is coming for these 3.

Mike is all about control. Judging from past behavior he is probably already installing hidden cameras and spying on the staff
Now that Lehman is managing by bullying and intimidation, what recourse does staff have? They can’t go to HR; it’s obvious Douglas would throw them into the lions den. They can’t go to the board; they all have their heads in the sand, keep singing the tune that everything is wonderful in lala land. I hear Lehman’s threatening staff while telling the board everything is wonderful!
People are afraid, sounds like workers will have harassment claims, if Lehmans not careful. But, hey, this is the way he operated at the county. That’s why they were so happy to get rid of him!
It appears Lehman surely is losing control of his people he thought he had control of. Ruling by intimadation never works. Lehman has been heard saying that he wants to close South Coast Food Share down from a full time operation to only open part time and also forcing the pantries to come get their food to FEED THE HUNGRY so he can save money. That will not help the deficit of $177,000. Lehman has allowed John Misterly to move foward and increase staff wages at SCFS knowing it is operating in the negative. How much sense does that make. So it could be Lehman’s inexperience in nonprofits and grant management that he believed John knew what he was doing or John has manipulated and inexperience Lehman the Executive Director either way they are both responsible for the downfall of SCFS. Does Coos County know what is going on after all they are on the line for about $800,000. What about all the foundations that also provided money to help build SCFS.
I agree Lehman is losing control of those he thought would have his back. There is no loyalty among dishonest people. Who will Lehman single out as the mole? Carol Douglas is the likely candidate as she does have access to personnel files and she would know that Lehman would have a review in 6 months and gain a raise to boot and we all know she has no ethics about her. She should be very worried about her job. John knows he is not qualified to hold the job of Acting Essential Services Director this is why he bullies everyone. He also should be worried as he has no one that has his back. Yes, lets not forget about the now operations manager of South Coast Food Share Laura S. She took full advantage of stupid John when she found out he was in control of Food Share rumor has it she did some Hmm let’s say favors outside of work with John and yes she has receive promotions and two raises all the while with Food Share having a deficit of $177,000.
After further reading into the article, I don’t truly believe it is a management style being implemented by Mike so much as it is by John and Carol. Unfortunately for Mike he is obviously overwhelmed and oblivious to the fact that his so called “loyal” management is blatantly leading by intimidation. Take off the blinders Mike and see them for who they really are. There are staff members there obviously passionate about what they do and the service they provide to the community. They have stayed because they know how important the organization is to our community. When will you finally see how important THEY are to the organization? Hopefully before it is too late.
Since the rumor about Colby is probably true, you should probably be watching your own back John as your “acting director” position will more than likely soon be gone. Your true character was exposed when you so conveniently slid into the position previously held by Pattie before she was even gone!! One would think at first impression that you were in fact a sharp guy…that is obviously not the case since your seemingly simple minded lady friend from Food Share so easily saw through you and your low self esteem. Don’t you think it coincidental how quickly she befriended you once you took over the position left by Rollie? And it has worked out quite well for her…promotions and raises. I mean think about it smart guy….how close were the two of you PRIOR to you taking over Food Share? I am also curious…have you asked to have your “black marks” removed from your personnel file as Carol did or did she simply “lose” them much like she has done with so many documents in the past? It is bad enough that Mike was put into a position he is obviously not qualified for but the fact that he is relying on yours and Carols misguided advice will undoubtedly lead to his demise. The two of you should be ashamed of yourselves for your conduct. You should both enjoy what you have while you have it as the right people have been informed of your actions and consequences will soon follow. I sincerely hope that the working staff are able to weather the storm and not be run off or removed by this obvious dictatorship style of management.
It would be a shock to see Adam Colby depart from Caddiepal that was doing so well.
I don’t know if there is any truth to the rumor but word has it that Adam Colby is in the works for a newly created assistant to the CEO position. If the people where worried before wait until this guy gets to cleaning things up…

I thought this was “Much ado about nothing”! Wasn’t that Lehmans own words? Methinks there is something there; people are only paranoid when they have something to hide.
Looks like the paranoia is just beginning – Lehman has a mole amongst his cherry picked crew – even leaking the amount of his raise! Sounds like its going to be hell for anyone who works there. Has anything been done about Douglas? From what I’ve heard and read, she could be throwing Lehman under the bus, after all shes done it before! Pretty bad when you don’t know who to trust – but hey, according to you, you’ve got it all under control. It really sounds like it!
No truth to any of these reports? Hmm, let’s see – it was your and Douglas email that was printed that proved what a disgrace to HR Douglas is and it was your words that you don’t know what your doing but your learning. But just deny the facts; hey, it’s working for Anthony Weiner – could work for you. Slime is slime.
And the board is going to give Lehman a raise, really? Yes, let’s follow the wall street model – the more a person destroys an organization, the more money the board throws at him. What a bunch of incompetent crooks! They should all be thrown out.
The only thing I will say about Carol Douglas is she is known to misplace things from time to time
This must be an awful place to work!! What a hostile enviroment to work in. If this is what he brings to staff meetings I can see why the place is falling apart! I am sure that Carol, Mike, and John will throw each other under the bus. It will be interesting to see how quickly they all turn on each other 😉 They should all be careful who is listening and what they will tell.
It sounds to me that Lehman is losing control of his hand picked team of followers and yes sir management people. They should be very afraid that they could be the next to be let go by Lehman. Could Carol Douglas be leaking information about the six month review of Lehman which would be this month. Douglas and Lehman only look out for themselves, so most likely they will turn on each other. How can the ORCCA Board approve giving Lehman a raise when he has done nothing to improve ORCCA but instead secured the down fall of ORCCA primarily because he has no experience running a nonprofit or grant management. This is mismanagement in big read letters.
