Veterans For Peace, Chapter 141 Bandon, Oregon held a vigil Sunday, Feb. 24th, 2013 at the Bandon Shopping Center in support of Bradley Manning. The vigil marked Manning’s 1,001th day in a military jail. Manning is the 25 year-old soldier who is accused of being behind the largest leak of state secrets in America’s history. He will appear before a military court this week to face charges of transferring confidential material to Julian Assange, the founder, editor-in-chief and director of WikiLeaks. If convicted, Manning could be confined in a military prison for the rest of his life. “A heroic young man faces life in prison for exposing the truth,” said Jeff Paterson, a spokesman for the Bradley Manning Support Network.
