The hand recount for votes in the position one race for commissioner will begin on Tuesday and is expected to last three days. Bob Main, who leads by 12 votes out of more than 25K votes cast, has signed up volunteers to observe the process and it is likely his opponent, Fred Messerle will also set observers. According to one of the volunteers, it is possible we will have a final result by next Friday.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Messerle lost and Cribbins decided at the last moment that she really won’t be a full time commissioner. She must know that you, I, and everybody else will be watching her closely fully expecting her to make a daily appearance for more than a few minutes in the courthouse. The tribe thinks that she will be with them after the first of the year. She also has a potato vodka still to manage.
I’ve had people tell me (younger voters), the reason they didn’t vote is because they didn’t think their vote really mattered. This race is a good example of why
your vote does matter.
