Tuesday marks the deadline for filing to run for local office and as we have learned some of our commissioner candidates are looking to run on a “jobs” platform. Prepare yourself for the upcoming forums and debates by refreshing your memory and theirs about past promises and expensive taxpayer funded boondoggles by reading Wim de Vriend’s well documented and often hilarious, (if it weren’t so sad), account of the failed economic development schemes promoted by the Port of Coos Bay, SCDC, the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and supported by all the usual suspects, some of whom are now running for commissioner.
The JOB Messiahs will make you laugh and cry and arm you with plenty of ammunition in the form of using the candidates own words against them. Pick up a copy at Books By The Bay or at The Blue Heron restaurant.
Is this election related or advertisement? Either is ok but I thought this was more journalistic.
Hopefully son would not be like commissioner father.
Hi Mary. I saw Adam Wideman today and it sounded Like Don Beebe, my old foreman from the Road Dept. put his hat in to run for Commissioner. Haven’t called him yet or emailed. But think I will soon. Not sure Its confirmed yet. Have a good one.
