Our government employees, elected and non-elected, should not be allowed to give away our wealth!
Why do these people keep giving our wealth to foreign companies and sovereign countries??
Behind our backs the federal government gives control of our gold mine locations and ports to foreign companies/sovereign nations for a pittance.
Our state representatives, behind our backs, give our lands over to federal government control.
Our county commissioners, behind our backs, give our minerals and lands to foreign companies and sovereign nations for a pittance. Think Oregon Resource Corporation, where the commissioners are not only contracting away our wealth for a pittance but have also eliminated most of their taxes, and with our tax dollars are helping to rebuild a road for them.
Now it is our Wagon Road timber. Don’t be confused, giving our Wagon Road 51,000 acres into the Tribe (a sovereign nation) trust for management is the same as giving it away as we cannot get it back. Bob LaPort (one person) primarily managed our forest lands and timber sales for years. Now that he is retired they are working to give 50% of our Wagon Road wealth to a foreign /sovereign nation for control. WHY? Who paid the expenses for our commissioner to travel to DC and petition our federal representatives to make this transaction? If it was the Tribe (a sovereign nation) our commissioner may be in a conflict of interest position. If it is us the tax payer our money is being used against us!
True, Ron, and what I have come to notice is how once in power these elected (and appointed) officials begin to operate as if they are running their own personal fiefdom
What’s interesting to me is the fact if any of these actions taken by the Commissioners were done by a hired employee that employee would most likely have been fired by now. It pays in more ways than one way to be an elected official.
