According to an English language Pakistani news organization the US may not be fully informing the public relating to a nuclear event at the Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant in flood ravaged Nebraska.
A shocking report prepared by Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a “total and complete” news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska.
According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a “catastrophic loss of cooling” to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a “no-fly ban” over the area.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission publishes daily “event reports” of any anomalous occurrences in the use of nuclear material including medical equipment. These events can include electrical fires, or even calling outside fire departments.
Meanwhile, Omaha Public Power District, the plant operator, denies that the spent fuel rods were ever without a functioning cooling system.
Officials said they also want to dispel the rumors going around the Internet about a possible nuclear meltdown.
OPPD Chief Executive Officer Gary Gates said, “It’s frustrating because some of the information is not right.”
In April, OPPD asked for a no fly zone over the plant because they shut down the reactor for routine refueling.
“It has nothing to do with radiation. There is no release of radiation from the site,” Bannister said.
Business Insider provides more information on the fire.
