The county, as promised, has made the audio of the May 10, 2011 interviews including the unauthorized closed session available for anyone who would like to pick it up. The audio of the closed session is available below.
It is worth noting that a couple of panel members had the same reservations about potential conflicts of interest from Messerle’s land and business holdings that I have expressed. If Messerle will constantly have to recuse himself what is the point of being on the board?
Some other interesting points, it was actually Bobbi Brooks who verbalizes that it is okay to go into executive session and after the room has been cleared, she cites the ORS 192.660 and Bob Main adds subsection 2A. Later in the session Main assures everyone that nothing they say will leave the room.
Also, human resources director Mike Lehman was introduced to the panel and sat in on the session. Lehman is a licensed attorney and was sitting next to Jacqueline Haggerty in February when she cautioned the commissioners and the panel they could not deliberate about the candidates in closed session when filling an elective office. Lehman never questions the proceedings.

The commissioners have had to take full responsibility now, haven’t they?
Before I answer that let me confess that I just enjoyed a mimosa in celebration for the successful completion of one of my NON mgx related efforts. With that caveat I will now say, yeah, I thought so too. This all points to my original complaints back in February, why doesn’t the commission just pick who they want and take ownership of that decision instead of all this foo foo?
Okay, I really need some caffeine
In my opinion there was serious manipulation of the committee toward Messerle
Not sure what they thought but Main kind of led that opinion by asking why Cribbins would want to take tougher job with lower pay. Actually, I had the same questions regarding Parry, surely he makes more doing what he does writing grants.
On the other hand, it is hard to imagine anyone genuinely interested in serving the public factoring in the paycheck to their equation. One would guess Messerle makes more doing whatever it is he does also
Alright, i have listened. My personal favorite was Cribbins. They tear her down because she works for the tribe and might have an agenda. Do they think she is also a tribal member?
