Previously, I had missed the first half of McKeown’s interview and unfortunately, the first half seems to be filled with the same bromides mentioned earlier. McKeown is a governor appointed commissioner of the International Port of Coos Bay. A side exchange between McKeown and Ted Simon about the port and its future, (roughly two thirds through the video), is off topic but nonetheless revelatory.
Another woman on the commission would have been nice but in this case the selection of Parry was probably the better choice.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, the source video has some jumps in it and I am unable to clean the last portion of this interview up. It is available online now, at Coos Media Center.
Am re-rendering the video above to correct some conversion errors. Will try to have it up later this afternoon
The TV allegory was so long I forgot what the question was
Sorry – no can view. Too tired at end of day. The most obvious of questions – the first question on my list of suggested questions and on every other persons – why do you want the job – the question that every candidate should have been prepared to answer – gets hesitation and an immediate answer of “oh gosh” – followed by my lifes story around the 12 inch screen television. I’ll be back when I have not consumed a full meal. Jeff would have had no problem with that.
