A four member committee voted three to one to accept Steve Jansen as the new assessor to replace Adam Colby, recalled in December. After undergoing a thorough background check by the Sheriffs Department, Jansen was deemed suitable for the position. The committee consisted of a gentleman from Oregon Department of Revenue, two women with a combined seventy years of experience in a public assessors office and a layperson.
