Not defending West Coast Contractors but banks weren’t lending to anybody
Yup, there is definitely something wrong with the airport and all the money that flows through it. Divide the commercial flights per day into the cost to build, maintain, etc… of course, it is really an executive jet parking lot, as we all know.
Holy Crapola Batgirl! The man running the Port Board of Directors – Mr. two hands needed to carry huge ego to you and me – needs SBA help because he is “unable to obtain financing in the private credit marketplace”. WOW! And, TEE SHIRT EXPRESS needs help? And, the soverign nation tribe? And, best of all, the airport needs big time help because it needed to “relocate the taxi way to accomodate the volume of traffic”. Say what!! Can you name an Oregon airport with more taxpayer monies invested and fewer arrivals and takeoffs daily? Somebody over there is still playing with the numbers. The FAA considers a takeoff and a landing to be two aircraft movements. Our airport bean counters look at it this way. Tug pulls aircraft from parking area to area outside FBO building lounge (movement 1); aircraft taxi to depart (movement 2); aircraft rolls down runway approaching V1 (movement 3); aircraft wheels up – hopefully before runway terminus (movement 4). Then in reverse order. Report heavy volume of 8 movements – not 2 – to FAA. Some day the FAA will do an audit. There are angry local taxpayers who can be seen daily parked at the airport and who are recording tail numbers.
