A 9mm Glock handgun with an extended magazine was found at the scene of a shooting in Tucson, Arizona. The suspected shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, 22 year old white male is in custody.
Eighteen people were shot six are now dead and twelve wounded, including a 9 year old child, an aide to US Rep Gabrielle Giffords, Gabe Zimmerman and a federal judge, John Roll. Giffords is out of surgery and early prognosis is she will recover. The bullet entered and exited her brain. [Victim list here]
Gabrielle Giffords was one of seventeen democratic members of Congress placed on a political ‘hit list’ published on Sarah Palin’s Facebook page. Palin’s SarahPAC used targeting imagery placing cross hairs over the districts where she was endorsing Republican or Tea Party candidates. Giffords ran against Jesse Kelly, a Marine Corps veteran, who once held a fundraiser inviting participants to shoot a fully loaded M16 with him.
Palin, who is taking quite a beating today in online media like Twitter, has since scrubbed this image from her websites and issued a statement on Facebook. (Apparently, she believed Giffords was dead).

Despite the ‘condolences’ the Palin, the Tea Party are being accused of incitement to violence. Conservative and Tea Party websites are scrubbing all copies of the target lists and running damage control, calling this a lone incident.
CNN, revealing its bias reported earlier today there was no evidence this was a terrorist attack. Clearly it was a terrorist attack, just not one carried out by Muslims.
During a press conference minutes ago, Pima County Sheriff, Clarence Dupnik, took three opportunities to condemn the vitriolic speech so many radio and news commentators use to ‘earn a living’. “I think that the vitriolic rhetoric that we hear day in and day out from the people in the radio business and some people in the TV business and what we see on TV…” incites disturbed young men, like the suspect. “Arizona has become the mecca of prejudice and bigotry”. Giffords during an interview in March “Sarah Palin has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district and when people do that, they’ve gotta realize there are consequences to that action.”
