Zacks Investment Research “downgraded shares of Williams (NYSE: WMB) from a “neutral” rating to an “underperform” rating” according to American Banking & Market News.

Williams is one of the companies attempting to lay a pipeline from a proposed LNG terminal in Coos County, more than two hundred miles to Malin, Oregon. Both the pipeline and the Jordan Cove LNG terminal are vigorously opposed by state and local citizen groups for environmental and safety reasons. Additionally, the pipeline seeks to obtain property easements from individual property owners via eminent domain, claiming a greater ‘public good’.

The Coalition for Fair Transmission Policy is an organization formed to halt the practice of socializing transmission costs that force citizens in one state to fund the energy choices of citizens in another.
