You are right den, we’ve lost all common sense. The council sits there beaming and acting like they just passed the Constitution or something. It’s nothing more than lip service.
BUT den, I want you to know I’m going to the city next week and demand it be deemed illegal to fart in public.
Talk about toxic gasses ! Why the h not?
Also spitting, I hate the spitting.
Farting in public should be banned immediately. They may just take it upon themselves to do so.
It is about time the government cleaned up those nasty Coos Bay parks, throw them smokers out. This is a beginning of the process, no burn barrels, no burning, no wood stoves, no pellet stoves.
Those smokers will then smoke on the public sidewalk, in public parking lots, near the high school, where the students smoke, on the boardwalk, at the public markets, and even in the private parking areas where other shoppers are, Wall mart, Safeway, Freddies, outside of restaurants. What to do now.
Enforcement will come at a cost. Use the Code enforcement person to police the parks, They can then directly harass the citizens leaving many property owners alone.
Real enforcement will come when neighbor tells on neighbor. Park goers tells on violators leading our society into tyranny
The one sided presentation by the gang of five, smells of the procedure of the disorderly property ordinance, supported by staff and councilors alike. There were two descending councilors, but only one side was offered. Now, staff’s time and Citizens funds will be spend to prepare an ordinance and have a public hearing to push through this special interest groups agenda.
Apathy or liberty will prevail. Talk to the councilors, show up to speak at the public hearing.
The city has spend multi of millions of dollars to prop up and subsidize business and tourism, and now it has begun, the plan of sterilization of the community to exclude a class of shoppers and visitors and to take the liberties of its’ own citizens, let your voice be heard.
